We can all use a day of golden sunshine, fresh air, and time outside. We’re pretty spoiled with the many outdoor destinations that dot the state and likely already have our favorites. However, it’s always worth it to check out new and little-known spots too. Norristown Farm Park in Pennsylvania, for example, provides an idyllic backdrop for a day outdoors all year round.
At a cozy 690 acres, Norristown Farm Park offers a picturesque backdrop whether you want to spend a few hours or the entire day with the family, friends, or even on a solo adventure.
Slip on a pair of comfortable shoes. The best way to explore the park is on one of its eight miles of walking paths. Even better, most of the paths are paved, so you can walk, bike, or rollerblade.
If you love wildflowers, you'll love Norristown Farm Park. Among the 216 types of wildflowers, you'll find tall, golden sunflowers. Stop to smell the flowers along your walk, but don't pick 'em.
Consider bringing along lunch, too. Numerous picnic areas dot the park, including two pavilions that are ADA-accessible. If you're not up for exploring, you can still have fun at the park.
Be sure to visit when the park is painted in the colors of fall and after a fresh snowfall. Both sledding and cross-country skiing are popular wintertime activities at Norristown Farm Park.
