Pennsylvania is home to a whole host of unique attractions, so we’re never really at a loss for something to do. If you’re a fan of moonshine, plan a visit to this distillery in Pennsylvania, where you can enjoy a tasting of some of the most unique moonshine in the country. It’s definitely one to add to the ole bucket list.
Sample some of the most unique moonshine in the United States at Tall Pines Distillery, with locations in Salisbury, Pennsylvania, and Pineville, Missouri.
Both locations of this popular distillery share a fascinating feature. Each was the first legal moonshine distillery in their respective areas after Prohibition.
Nestled in Somerset County in Western Pennsylvania, Tall Pines Distillery earned its moniker from the trees that surround it. The distillery, which lies near the Laurel Highlands, is flanked by tall pine trees, some of which tower more than 70 feet tall.
Sporting the motto, “we’re a different kind of hillbilly,” the distillery beckons visitors from all over Pennsylvania and beyond. Many describe its moonshine in such glowing terms as “fantastic,” “clean and smooth,” and “amazing.”
The staff earns just as much praise for its knowledge and helpfulness. You can sign up for a tasting to sample some of the moonshine and a tour to check out the facility.
Tall Pines Distillery labels itself as “grain to glass,” as it focuses on natural flavors and ingredients. Try such unique flavors as apple pie, banana foster, huckleberry, and orange cream.
You’ll also find some seasonal flavors too – peach and lumberjacked apple, for example.
If you’re in another corner of Pennsylvania and can’t make it to Somerset County, you can still indulge in Tall Pines Distillery’s unique moonshine by visiting its online shop.
