So, PA doesn’t border the ocean. Pfft. That’s no big deal, right? After all, we have plenty of quaint hidden beaches in Pennsylvania’s state parks. And, that doesn’t even include the 11 beaches stretched across Lake Erie and the sandy spots lining Conneaut Lake. All in all, we’re pretty lucky to live in a state that boasts so many picture-perfect beaches. And, if you’re looking for a new spot to explore, head to this pristine beach in Pennsylvania that also happens to be one of the state’s longest beaches.
Pack your favorite beach towel, sunscreen, and everything you need for a sun-kissed day at Laurel Hill State Park in Somerset.
And, don't forget to pack your picnic favorites, like burgers and hot dogs, to grill. Or, just head to the concession stand at the beach to stock up on goodies.
Or, slip on your hiking shoes for a leisurely hike. The one-mile Copper Kettle Trail, for example, passes right by the beach. Rated easy, the trial links the beach to the picnic area.
So, start planning your beach day now, before it's too late. The beach at Laurel Hill State Park closes after Labor Day. Until then, it is open daily from 8 a.m. to sunset.
