We’re so fortunate to live in a state that’s dotted with adorable towns and darling villages – especially when we want to get away from it all and to embrace the peace and quiet. Tionesta, a charming little town in Pennsylvania, offers just about everything you could want from a getaway – from quaint shops to fun outdoor activities.
Nestled along the Allegheny River in the Pennsylvania Wilds, Tionesta provides a breathtaking backdrop when you just want to get away from it all.
With a population of just over 400, the enchanting town boasts a rich Native American history. The townspeople and visitors from all over join together to celebrate that heritage at the annual Tionesta Indian Festival, usually held in August.
Tionesta’s a throwback to yesteryear, especially when you visit Hallers General Store. It’s the perfect spot to pick up souvenirs and find a little bit of everything – from food and fishing gear to gifts and toys.

You’ll definitely want to carve out time to spend at the 3,000-acre Tionesta Lake. The lake is popular with swimmers, kayakers, boaters, and picnickers.
If you’re up for falling asleep under the stars, reserve a spot at one of the local campgrounds. Or, check into the Turtle Bay Lodge, a cozy bed and breakfast.
