A love of the outdoors just comes naturally, especially living in Pennsylvania. With such easy access to waterfalls (hundreds), state parks (134 of ’em), and lakes (more than 2,500!), many of us gravitate toward outdoor destinations, making the most of our free time by spending it in nature. This little-known lake in Lewisberry, Pennsylvania promises plenty to do, whether you feel like spending time on, in, or near the water.
A day at Gifford Pinchot State Park, a 2,238-acre park in Lewisberry, inevitably means spending at least some time on or near the water.
If you're visiting between Memorial Day and Labor Day, rent a canoe, kayak, paddleboat, or row boat.

Don't forget to pack your swim gear if you're visiting during the summer. Pinchot Lake provides an idyllic setting for sunbathing and swimming. It also has a seasonal snack bar.
Iceboating and ice skating are both popular on Pinchot Lake in the winter. If you prefer to stay on solid (albeit frozen, snow-covered) ground, explore the trails on skis.
