Who’s ready for a jam-packed calendar filled with fun in the coming months? A lot of annual events were canceled last year due to the pandemic. However, some of those events are planning to return in 2021. Pennsylvania’s Lancaster Balloon Festival, for example, promises this year’s event will be bigger and better than ever.
Start counting down the days until the return of the Lancaster Balloon Festival, set for September 17-19, 2021 in Bird-in-Hand.
Officially the Lancaster Balloon Festival and Country Fair, the epic event will boast more than 40 hot air balloons, tethered hot air balloon rides, and a full menu of activities.
Certainly the star of the weekend, the hot air balloons will be showcased in the Balloon Mass Ascension, each evening at 6 p.m., and a Balloon Glow at 8:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Fireworks light up the sky after the glow on Saturday evening.
Plan to visit during the day, too, to enjoy some of the other festivities. Kiddos can jump in the bounce house and meet reptiles while the whole family can find their way out of a five-acre corn maze.
Bring a hearty appetite, too, because the menu features a food truck festival and an Amish market, the latter of which will include Amish-made foods and other products.
As of the time of publication, general admission tickets are not yet on sale. However, you can book a flight on a shared hot air balloon. Book your flight.
Will you add Pennsylvania’s Lancaster Balloon Festival to your calendar? Have you been to it in the past? Let us know in the comments! If you’re looking for a fun way to while away the time until the festival, soar down a mountain on this alpine slide in Seven Springs.
