We’re all extremely fortunate to have modern conveniences like indoor plumbing, electricity, and refrigeration. In fact, we probably take it for granted. Long ago, however, Pennsylvanians didn’t have the same luxuries. Take ice. Before refrigeration, how did people “make” ice? Plan a visit to this unforgettable attraction in Pennsylvania this winter for the answer.
The Sculpted Ice Works Factory Tour and National Ice Harvest Museum gives visitors a front row seat to the bygone process of ice making, the modern process, and how professionals carve ice sculptures.
Sculpted Ice Works carves ice sculptures for a variety of clients. And, if you've ever been to Crystal Cabin Fever, you've likely slipped down its ice slide.
Crystal Cabin Fever Under the Big Top is set for February 9-25, 2018. The highlight of the annual event at the museum is the 50-foot slide. Other features include ice sculptures, food trucks, wine tasting, and a fire pit.
The Sculpted Ice Works Factory Tour and Ice Harvest Museum kicks off its annual season in February. Tickets are $7 general admission, $6 for seniors and military members, and $5 for kids between three and 14 years.
