As the end of summer quickly approaches, we have a lot of decisions to make, including how we will make the most of those final summer days. How about a day or two outdoors, with our eyes on the sky, at this epic hot air balloon festival in Pennsylvania? Hot air balloons are, undoubtedly, the highlight of the festival, but so much more fun is on the agenda.
Start counting down to September 10-11, 2022 for the return of the Balloonfest, Airshow & So Much More at the Lycoming County Fairgrounds in Hughesville.
One of the highlights of this two-day festival is all of the hot air balloons. Balloon rides will be available if you’re up for a one-of-a-kind adventure. (Reservations must be made in advance and include paying a deposit.)
Line up for a tethered balloon experience (weather-permitting), if you prefer to stay closer to the ground. Tickets are just $10 for adults and $5 for kiddos under age 6.
You can also marvel at the beauty of the balloons as they float across the sky. A balloon launch is tentatively scheduled for Saturday evening from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Air shows are planned throughout the weekend, too.
The weekend will also feature other fun, family-friendly activities, including puppet shows, magic shows, BMX shows, and a trick roping show and demonstration. Plan to stick around until 7 p.m. on Saturday, too, for the laser light show.
Tickets will be on sale online, which offers a discount, or you can purchase them at the gate. A two-day ticket is also available if you plan to visit both days of the festival.
