Not all superheroes wear capes – and not all are household names. Take the inspiration behind the utterly charming, superhero-themed eatery, Hero’s Kafe in Pennsylvania, as an example. A middle-schooler who goes by his nickname, XD, learned that he had his own superpower, ASD. Combining that super-heroic power with his mom’s passion and talent for cooking and his dad’s love of comics and video games, the family of three started the cozy café that serves breakfast and lunch.
XD’s – short for Xavier Daniel – parents Xavier and Daniela spent years traveling for work – eventually making their way from their home country of Ecuador to Bethlehem.
Hero’s Kafe is located inside the Ben Franklin TechVentures building.
Together the family started what’s quickly become a neighborhood favorite. Hero’s Kafe earns props from guests for its delicious food, affordable prices, and friendly staff.
Hero’s Kafe is currently open from Monday through Friday, so you’ll definitely want to make an effort to stop by for a hearty breakfast or lunch during the week.
You probably won’t find a better way to start the day than with a scrumptious, homemade omelet, which pairs oh-so-perfectly with a cup of hot coffee, tea, or an assortment of drinks.
One thing you’ll likely notice as you browse the menu is the names of the items all have a superhero theme. Order a drink, for example, in size mortal, hero, or titan.
Take a peek at the smoothies, too, which are particularly refreshing on a warm Pennsylvania day.
When lunch rolls around, the menu features a selection of crisp, fresh salads and sandwiches, including the classic BLT and the quesadilla. If you don’t see a sandwich that strikes your mood, you can create your own.
