Fort Mifflin also had a role in the Civil War, World War I, and World War II.
Known as the “fort that saved America,” Fort Mifflin played a significant role during the Revolutionary War. American soldiers held the British at bay, which allowed George Washington and his troops to set up their winter headquarters at Valley Forge.
All that history makes it natural that tales of the paranormal consistently stream out of Fort Mifflin – from both those who work there, including tour guides, and visitors.
Numerous visitors tell of an unknown tour guide, for example, dressed in Revolutionary War garb. He chats with the visitors but then simply disappears.
