Before it became a popular restaurant, the building that houses The Firehouse Restaurant was Hope Station #2, part of the Harrisburg Hope Fire Company.

After serving the Harrisburg community since 1871, Hope Station #2 closed in 1980, relocating to a more modern firehouse in the city.
