Forget the strip malls and the shopping malls, at least for your next shopping adventure. Instead, stop by the charming Street of Shops in Pennsylvania, an indoor village of shops, where you’ll feel as though you’ve traveled back in time. Stroll along Main Street, exploring the eclectic shops and, when you get hungry, stop for a bite to eat in the classic eatery.
Carve out plenty of time, perhaps even a full day, for your visit to Street of Shops in Lewisburg, an enchanting indoor village that boasts 375 shops selling everything from home décor to antiques.
Tucked in a historic woolen mill, the village of shops is broken down into neighborhoods, of sorts – Main Street, Downtown, Uptown, and Market Square, for example.
Start your shopping adventure on Main Street, for example, a cluster of shops all with vintage storefronts. Lit with Victorian street lights, the street itself features several places to sit when you need a break.
Journey uptown where you’ll find vendors selling an assortment of goodies – from Teak furniture to Coke collectibles. Country Lane, on the other hand, features shops selling home décor and primitive items.
Chances are if you’re looking for something unique – from jewelry and vintage furniture to books and handmade items – you'll find something that catches your eye.
If you consider yourself a treasure hunter, you’ll think you’ve discovered paradise at the 40,000-square foot flea market. The constantly-changing merchandise makes the flea market a must-visit.
Shopping can get quite tiring, can’t it? Fuel up for more shopping with a stop at the Street of Shops Restaurant, where you can dig into breakfast all day or opt for lunch/dinner.
The restaurant serves such breakfast classics as pancakes and omelets. Or, opt for a scrumptious lunch/dinner dish, such as the chicken and waffles, hot roast beef, or lasagna.
Stroll through and find hidden treasures at the Street of Shops, open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
