Hiking’s one of those year-round activities that allow us to spend time outdoors whenever the weather cooperates. Most trails offer jaw-dropping scenery in each season, making them well worth a visit several times. Follow the Tom Lowe Trail, which leads to a breathtaking waterfall in Pennsylvania, during any season. However, the trail is particularly striking during the warmer months.
Wandering nearly five miles through State Game Lands 110 in Hamburg, the Tom Lowe Trail's drenched in shades of emerald during the spring and the summer.
Pick up the trail at the parking lot, which easily fits about 20 cars. Because the terrain can get pretty rocky, slip on a pair of sturdy hiking boots.
The melody of nature and the gushing of creek water over rocks will serenade you during your hike. Dogs are also allowed on the trail, as long as they remain leashed.
Finally, you'll arrive at the waterfall, flanked by foliage in brilliant shades of green and, in the right light, giving the waterfall a greenish tint. If you look closely, you might even see tiny bubbles in the pool into which the cascade tumbles.
Have you been to this waterfall in Pennsylvania? What do you think? Did the emerald surrounding the cascade give it a green tint? Join the conversation in the comments! If you love waterfalls but not hiking, check out these eight easy-access waterfalls in Pennsylvania.
