The Brownstone Cafe, in Middletown, earned its name from its location - a cozy, old-fashioned brown stone building that dates back to 1892 when it housed the National Bank of Middletown.

You'll feel right at home at the Brownstone Cafe, a neighborhood staple for more than two decades. The quaint cafe, in fact, may just become your new go-to restaurant.

Peek at the menu that boasts scrumptious homemade soups, including beef vegetable soup, French onion soup, and cream of crab. Don't forget to ask about the soup of the day.

Sometimes nothing hits the spot like a hearty sandwich, and you'll have quite a few choices at the Brownstone Cafe. Try the classic BLT, the hot ham and cheese, or the hot tuna melt.

You can also build your own burger or sink your teeth into a juicy hot dog.

How does a home-style dinner sound? Brownstone Cafe serves such favorites as baked meatloaf, tender roasted turkey, and kielbasa. Weekdays also feature four daily specials.

Although The Brownstone Cafe's dining area is temporarily closed due to Covid-19, it is open for takeout. The cafe usually serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily.
