Want to explore a unique park in Oregon? Head to Portland’s Forest Park, which provides phenomenal recreation opportunities all year long. This is one of my favorite places in Oregon to run, hike, and walk. There is so much terrain to explore and it’s fabulous year-round. In fact, you’ll love walking the same trail week after week and watching as the plants and trees change with the seasons. There’s lots of tree cover so rainy day walks are an option, too. Many people bring along their furry friends for outdoor adventures along these trails. My pup Bucky loves to zoom up the hills — and I love how he helps me along via his leash!
For more information about the park, visit the City of Portland Forest Park website. If your visit to the park includes a drive, you may want to stock up on car-friendly snacks and/or bring a lunch to enjoy along the way.
We’d love to know how you enjoyed your trip to Forest Park, so please leave a comment. Also, feel free to share your favorite off-the-beaten-path spots in Oregon. We are always looking for new places to explore.
