Oregon is home to more than 720 wineries, and most are located in the Willamette Valley, where the soil is rich, the climate is mild, and the scenery is stunning. One county in particular has more than 80 award-winning wineries, and if you’re a wine connoisseur, you need to pay this region a visit.
With more than 500 wineries, the Willamette Valley is the place to explore if you're a wine enthusiast. The region is especially known for its excellent Pinot noir.
Yamhill County is located just south of Portland, between I-5 and the coast. It's home to around 100,000 people, and has some of the most beautiful countryside in the state. Towns in Yamhill County include McMinnville, Newberg, Dundee, Dayton, Carlton, Yamhill, Bellevue, and Sheridan.
Beautiful estates sprawl out over the rolling hills, covering them with grapevines. You'll find acres and acres of vineyards, often separated by lush forest. Shown is WillaKenzie Estate in Yamhill.
Each winery has its own unique features. You'll find estates both small and large, some with longstanding history of producing award-winning wines. Yamhill Valley Vineyards is a 150-acre vineyard, and the oldest in the McMinnville area.
There are plenty of places to lay your head at night while touring the wineries in Yamhill County. Youngberg Hill offers stunning accommodations in the middle of a 50-acre vineyard. It's well-appointed rooms offer stunning vineyard views.

There's no shortage of incredible restaurants in Yamhill County, either. The Joel Palmer House Restaurant is located in a historic 1857 home that was built by one of the founders of the town of Dayton. Its chef and owner is a fourth generation restaurateur.
Make plans now to visit Yamhill County and stop by as many of its wineries as you can! They all welcome you for tastings, and are happy to show you why Oregon wines continue to win awards. Shown is the tasting room at Stoller Family Estate. With 400 acres, Stoller is the largest contiguous vineyard in the Dundee Hills.
