I write like it's my job - because it is! I have a Master's in English and love words: crossword puzzles, Scrabble games, Wordle, and, of course, good, old-fashioned books.
I'm a writer and editor at OnlyInYourState, and a contributing writer at Cincinnati Magazine. I love the Great Outdoors and am endlessly awestruck by this beautiful country of ours. Coffee keeps me going, yoga keeps me sane, my kids keep me grounded, and my writing keeps me inspired.
The Beaver State has gained worldwide acclaim for its wines, but most of the state’s vineyards and wineries are nestled in the Willamette Valley region… not, say, the Oregon Coast. Which is just one of the enchanting oddities that make Depoe Bay Winery so special. Located in the eponymous Oregon Coast town, Depoe Bay Winery is located right off the stunningly scenic Highway 101. Boasting amazing wines and extraordinary views, there’s nothing better than visiting this waterfront winery on a warm Oregon day.
Depoe Bay is one of the most spectacular places on the Central Oregon Coast, a region known for its shockingly blue waters, commanding cliffs, and incredible whale watching.
One of the 10 oldest wineries in Oregon, this winery is known for their bold and unique blends, which visitors can sample during a tasting or wine flight. The Oregon Blackberry is a perennial favorite!
This winery is a place that embraces its quirky side as well; customers can donate a buck to charity in exchange for a signed dollar bill that will forever commemorate their visit to this only-in-Oregon spot.
The Depoe Bay Wine Cave is open daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tastings are $10 for five selections, and the fee is waived with the purchase of a bottle of wine. Trust us -- you'll definitely be purchasing a bottle... or 10!
While primarily open just for wine tastings, this waterfront winery often teams up with local restaurants for pairings that are out-of-this-world. Fresh-caught oysters and chardonnay? Yes, please!
And when the weather warms up in our little corner of the PNW, there's nothing as wonderful as enjoying a crisp Oregon wine whilst gazing out at the waterfront. You might even see some whales!
Depoe Bay Winery truly is one-of-a-kind, and we’re so lucky to be able to visit this waterfront winery in Oregon anytime we want. And adding a dollar to their Wine Cave is definitely a bucket-list must for Oregon oenophiles!
After your afternoon tasting at this Oregon winery, reserve a table for dinner at another waterfront spot in Depoe Bay. This fine dining restaurant is about as scenic as it gets.
