In a state like Oregon there are plenty of ways to appreciate the great outdoors. While some of them are more complicated, there’s actually a misconception that all of them require some expertise. The reality is that a number of Oregon’s best waterfalls are perfect for folks that are just starting out with hiking. This one is particularly great for little legs and those who have limited mobility.
Bridal Veil Falls Trail reflects the typical lush greenery that you'll see across much of the region. It's simple, accessible and oh-so-beautiful.
You'll find the area at milepost 28 on the Historic Columbia River Scenic Highway. Use I-84 and then Exit 28 to find the parking area 3/4 of a mile down the road.
There are two different trails in the park. The upper trail includes educational boards and leads to the top of the falls. The lower route leads to the base, but is quite steep and not accessible to those with limited mobility. We love both, but today we'll stick to the upper trail.
There are two drops here and the entire waterfall is about 118 feet. No, this isn't the tallest in the state but the payoff for such a short hike is huge.
Be sure to take extra caution when it's wet or misty. Rocks can get slippery and you don't add a dangerous spill to this fun hike!
You can learn more about Bridal Veil Falls through alltrails.com. Visit the Oregon State Park website for up-to-date information on park closings. The trail is best accessed between March and October. And the best thing about this route? You can bring dogs! Just be sure to keep them on a leash.
