There’s nothing more comforting than diner food, and Oregon certainly has plenty of great down-home diners to choose from. Here’s a modern version that offer updates on traditional diner fare and atmosphere, and you just might love it. Check out The Original Dinerant:
The Original Dinerant is a modern version of the traditional diners and supper clubs of the 1950s and 60s. It's located at 300 SW 6th Ave., Portland, OR 97204.
You'll find plenty of old-school diner fare on the menu. Like all diners, it's a great place to start the day with breakfast items like country-fried steak, omelets, and egg Benedicts.
Another great treat for brunch? Donut sliders. Made with pillowy, sweet glazed donuts, these little cheeseburgers are the perfect blend of savory and sweet.
If you're dining for lunch or dinner, get a full-sized burger. You'll find several on the menu, and they range from traditional cheeseburgers to unique offerings like this taco burger with a beef chorizo patty, guacamole, cotija cheese, fried jalapenos, and chipotle aioli.
Even the milkshakes have been given a facelift here! The handmade milkshakes are delicious... but you might want to try a boozy milkshake with a little added kick.
If you haven't visited this place yet, you need to give it a try! It's open Sunday through Thursday from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Friday 6:30 a.m. to Midnight; Saturday 7:30 a.m. to midnight.
Have you dined at The Original Dinerant? We’d love to hear about your meal there! For more details and a full menu, visit the Dinerant’s website, and follow on Facebook for specials and events.
