I write like it's my job - because it is! I have a Master's in English and love words: crossword puzzles, Scrabble games, Wordle, and, of course, good, old-fashioned books.
I'm a writer and editor at OnlyInYourState, and a contributing writer at Cincinnati Magazine. I love the Great Outdoors and am endlessly awestruck by this beautiful country of ours. Coffee keeps me going, yoga keeps me sane, my kids keep me grounded, and my writing keeps me inspired.
Hiking in Oregon is one of the very best ways to experience the state’s natural splendor. In fact, immersing yourself in the forest provides immeasurable benefits for general health and general well-being. One of the very best trails in Oregon’s Mt. Hood National Forest, the Tamanawas Falls Trail, is an easy, 3.8-mile out-and-back hike with an epic waterfall finish that’s absolutely captivating.
The Tamanawas Falls Trail is located in one of the most glorious parts of Mt. Hood National Forest, and it runs parallel to the Hood River in the majestic Cascade Mountains.
You’ll follow Cold Spring Creek until you reach the falls, winding beneath stately canopies of Douglas fir, mountain hemlock, and red alder trees along the way.
