You’ve probably been to a zoo or two during your lifetime, and they’re great places to see all kinds of animals. But for a special experience, you’ll want to visit Wildlife Safari in Winston, Oregon. This drive-through park shows you animals like you’ve never seen them before. The park also has a special sunset safari tour, and it gives you a chance to see what happens in the park after it closes.
Wildlife Safari is a 600-acre park that's home to more than 500 animals. You can visit the park by driving right through it from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
During the summer, the park is offering a brand new Sunset Safari tour on Friday evenings from 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The tour offers visitors a chance to see the animals in the evening hours, and get an insider's view of the operations here.
During the heat of the day, animals tend to spend a lot of their time in the shade or finding other ways to cool off. A visit in the evening means that you'll often see them being much more active.
Only 20 people can join this tour, so you'll have the opportunity to ask lots of questions and see the park without the distraction of a lot of other guests.
You'll see animals from all over the world, including Asia, Africa, and North America as you make your way around the park. You'll also see keepers hard at work as they settle the animals in for the evening.
Wildlife Safari is much more than just a drive-through zoo. Its cheetah breeding program is known as the best program outside of Africa. Learn more about the cheetahs here during your tour.
