I write like it's my job - because it is! I have a Master's in English and love words: crossword puzzles, Scrabble games, Wordle, and, of course, good, old-fashioned books.
I'm a writer and editor at OnlyInYourState, and a contributing writer at Cincinnati Magazine. I love the Great Outdoors and am endlessly awestruck by this beautiful country of ours. Coffee keeps me going, yoga keeps me sane, my kids keep me grounded, and my writing keeps me inspired.
Hear ye, hear ye! It’s that time of year again: Ren Fest time! There’s nothing better than wandering through a Renaissance Festival, giant turkey leg in hand, experiencing the culture and history of Elizabethan times. And this fall, the Shrewsbury Renaissance Faire in Oregon is celebrating 25 years of riot and revelry, making this festival *the* can’t-miss-event of the season!
Come one, come all -- it's time for the 25th Annual Shrewsbury Renaissance Faire in Oregon! This year's milestone event takes place on Sept. 11-12 in Kings Valley, Oregon, just 15 minutes (and 500 years!) from downtown Corvallis.
Here enchantment awaits young and old as jousting knights and noble steeds go head-to-head; troubadours, dancers, and bards fill the fairgrounds with riot and revelry; and kings and queens (and guests) delight in the show.
The only Renaissance festival of its kind in Oregon, this enchanting, two-day event offers an unforgettable historical adventure for guests. Modeled on the times of Shakespeare and Elizabeth I, and set between 1558 to 1603, this festival is as educational as it is fun.
What makes Ren fests so wonderful is that they are a welcoming place for revelry *and* creativity. At the Shrewsbury Renaissance Faire, all the world's a stage, and everyone's a player!
