I write like it's my job - because it is! I have a Master's in English and love words: crossword puzzles, Scrabble games, Wordle, and, of course, good, old-fashioned books.
I'm a writer and editor at OnlyInYourState, and a contributing writer at Cincinnati Magazine. I love the Great Outdoors and am endlessly awestruck by this beautiful country of ours. Coffee keeps me going, yoga keeps me sane, my kids keep me grounded, and my writing keeps me inspired.
There’s something magical about Oregon. From our picture-perfect waterfalls and lush, old-growth forests, to whimsical gardens and castles, there are so many places in The Beaver State that seem to have been plucked straight from the pages of a story book. But there’s one place that tops them all; it’s an attraction that quite literally drops visitors in the middle of a real-life fairy tale menagerie! This is the magic of the Enchanted Forest, a must-visit destination in Salem, Oregon that’s nothing short of fantastic.
Everyone knows Oregon's forests are enchanted, but did you know there was a literal Enchanted Forest in Oregon? It's true!
This Salem gem opened in 1971 and is a whimsical family destination that's beloved by generations of Oregonians. The park features classic attractions like a log flume, bumper cars, and roller coasters, all befitting of the fairy tale theme.
The Enchanted Forest's attractions are inspired by Alice in Wonderland, Mother Goose, and Grimm Brothers tales, and the park really does have a charmed, fairy tale quality.
Like the world of Alice in Wonderland, there's something a bit topsy-turvy about the Enchanted Forest, where everything is out of proportion and helter skelter.
Have you visited the Enchanted Forest in Oregon before? This only-in-Oregon attraction is easily the most delightful — and enchanting — day trip in the state!
