I write like it's my job - because it is! I have a Master's in English and love words: crossword puzzles, Scrabble games, Wordle, and, of course, good, old-fashioned books.
I'm a writer and editor at OnlyInYourState, and a contributing writer at Cincinnati Magazine. I love the Great Outdoors and am endlessly awestruck by this beautiful country of ours. Coffee keeps me going, yoga keeps me sane, my kids keep me grounded, and my writing keeps me inspired.
The South Oregon Coast often gets overlooked for its neighborhoods to the north. And while the Central and North Coasts of Oregon are indeed rife with gorgeous geological features and stunning shorelines, the South Coast is quite captivating, too, boasting cerulean blue waters, expansive shoreline, and white-capped surf perfect for all sorts of outdoor recreation… surfing included. And within this southernmost region of the Oregon Coast, the Curry Coast is quite beguiling, full of secret beaches, hidden gems, and breathtaking natural beauty.
This is not Fiji or Hawaii, though it certainly looks like some far-away slice of paradise, does it not?
The Oregon Coast is divided into three regions, each with their own distinct appeal and personality. In the North Coast, visitors can explore myriad historic and charming beach towns; the Central Coast is characterized by colorful sea stacks and monoliths; while the South Oregon Coast is a rough and rugged place of unspoiled and pristine PNW beauty.
It's a wild and wondrous place that's home to abundant wildlife... and wild weather! Storm chasers come from all over to seek out adventure on the Curry Coast, with the churning and unpredictable Pacific providing endless appeal to weather watchers.
Water recreation such as surfing and scuba diving are popular pastimes along the South Coast of Oregon, too, with the Curry Coast home to expansive stretches of pristine, clear-blue water.
And beachcombers also have much to celebrate at the Curry Coast, where ruby-red carnelian, clear enhydro, verdant moss and jaspers, and fossilized agates can be found all along the shores -- in addition to the tide pools teeming with colorful sea stars, urchins, sea cucumbers, and fluttering fish.
But the best feature about the Curry Coast are its secret beaches; the numerous oases with sea caves and tree-lined cliffs that feel like your very own escape to paradise. In fact, this region is home to *the* Secret Beach of the South Oregon Cost... and it's worth seeking out!
