Do you love steak? Really, really love steak? If so, you might want to head to Sayler’s Old Country Kitchen in Portland, where they’ll serve you a 72-ounce steak…and if you can finish it within an hour, it’s free!
Brothers Art and Dick Sayler came to Oregon in 1946, and bought a little restaurant called Country Kitchen. Over the years, they turned it into an incredible steakhouse in Portland. Today, the third generation of the Sayler family manages this little gem.
Hopefully, you've arrived hungry. This restaurant offers a 72-ounce steak. It's absolutely massive, but if you can eat it all in sixty minutes or less, it's free!
If you think you're up for the 72-Ounce Steak Challenge, here's what you'll have to consume in an hour or less: two celery sticks, two carrot sticks, two olives, two dill pickles, one regular salad, ten french fries or a baked potato, one slice of bread, and every morsel of edible parts of the 72-ounce steak.
Are you ready for a thick, juicy steak? Whether you go for the 72-ouncer, or a smaller sirloin, rib-eye, or t-bone, or filet mignon, Sayler's is the place to go.
Visit seven days a week! The restaurant is open Monday through Thursday 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.; Friday 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.; Saturday 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.; Sunday Noon to 10 p.m..
Would you ever attempt to eat this much steak in an hour? Learn more about the 72-Ounce Steak Challenge on Sayler’s Old Country Kitchen website, and follow the restaurant on its Facebook page.
