I write like it's my job - because it is! I have a Master's in English and love words: crossword puzzles, Scrabble games, Wordle, and, of course, good, old-fashioned books.
I'm a writer and editor at OnlyInYourState, and a contributing writer at Cincinnati Magazine. I love the Great Outdoors and am endlessly awestruck by this beautiful country of ours. Coffee keeps me going, yoga keeps me sane, my kids keep me grounded, and my writing keeps me inspired.
Oregon is full of fun places to go for a day trip, and the SAGE Center definitely ranks at the top of the list. Located in Boardman, the SAGE Center, (an acronym for Sustainable AGriculture and Energy), is an interactive museum that highlights sustainable agriculture, farming, and energy. This museum makes these important topics accessible and fun for kids (and adults!) to learn about, and really is one of the most unique day trips in Oregon.
The SAGE Center is an interactive museum and visitor center that highlights sustainable agriculture and energy in Morrow County, Oregon.
This museum was developed by the Port of Morrow in order to educate visitors about the technology that takes place locally within the Port of Morrow region of northeastern Oregon.
Kids today can be so far removed from our agrarian roots. At the SAGE Center, kids get a hands-on lesson in the agriculture and dairy industries, as well as lessons on sustainable farming practices.
And dairy is *big* in Oregon; we love our Tillamook Creamery! After all that learning, visitors can enjoy fresh scoops of Tillamook as a hard-earned reward.
The SAGE Center is such a cool Oregon gem. It's a place that celebrates sustainability, agriculture, and the bounty of the Beaver State--and it's absolutely worth a visit on your next day trip.
