The Oregon coast gets pretty crowded on summer weekends, and Lincoln City is always very busy. According to Oregon State Parks, there’s a little recreation site there that’s less crowded that other places. Check out Roads End Recreation Site:
Located on the north end of Lincoln City, Roads End State Recreation Site is often less crowded than the larger Lincoln City beaches. It's a day-use area with restrooms that are open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
It's situated in a little cove, so it's also less windy. And don't worry - this little beach is just as nice as the others in the area. In fact, it might become your new favorite spot.
At low tide, you'll want to explore the small, colorful creatures that live in the tide pools. Remember to leave them where they are and look, but don't touch.
When the tide is low, you can explore around Roads End Point to find another little cove to enjoy. Your access to the main beach is cut off when the tide returns, so make sure to have your tide table handy, and keep an eye on the encroaching waters so you can get back.
The next time you visit Lincoln City, take a peek at Roads End State Recreation Site. It's a little gem just waiting for you to discover it!
