Every adventure starts with a single step. And then another, and another, until you find yourself somewhere new and undiscovered. That’s the journey of a writer. You never know where the next word will take you. Hopefully, together, we can experience some amazing new adventures at OnlyInYourState.
As local travel experts, we know what travelers are looking for when it comes to finding the perfect accommodations for their next trip. To compile our lists, we scour the internet to find properties with excellent ratings and reviews, desirable amenities, nearby attractions, and that something special that makes a destination worthy of traveling for.
Pack your go-go boots, tiki mugs, and Star Trek communicator because you’ll have a blast at this groovy retro-themed motel in North Bend, Oregon. Surrounded by the beautiful Coos Bay, this charming quirky town is home to cute shops, antique stores, cool little restaurants, and (of course) our main attraction: the Itty Bitty Inn.
The Itty Bitty Inn is the most perfect themed motel for all of us retro geeks who are loud and proud of our uniqueness. This motel fits right in with the local Oregon vibe, and has been an icon of the area since 1950!
Even the building itself shows off its peacock feathers with beautiful vintage murals, old-school charm, and even a sasquatch if you are lucky enough to catch a glimpse.
Maybe we should talk about these amazing themed rooms before we go on that Big Foot expedition. The Itty Bitty Inn has five retro themes to choose from.
One of the most popular rooms for retro TV and movie buffs is the Star Trek Enterprise room! Take command of the Enterprise from your own bed - just imagine the adventures you will enjoy without even leaving your room.

You did pack those go-go boots, right? The 70s room will be right up your alley. Spin that disco ball and get your groove on! Just don't bump your head on the macrame plant holder.
If vintage Tiki is your jam you will fall in love with, not one but two Tiki-themed rooms to choose from. This Tiki lounge room takes that 60s swank you love and cranks it up to 11.
Or, you can enjoy the Tiki Cha Cha room, it's like having your own bamboo hut. Grab your complimentary Navy Grog, May Tai, or Zombie (with or without alcohol) and relax in tiki style.
No child of the 80s should go without a stay at the Oregon Trail room. This wild frontier-themed room will take you on a John Wayne adventure through the Old West - we hope you packed your spurs!
A retro getaway isn't complete without a vintage gaming system. An Atari 2600 and plenty of your favorite games are available to rent for an all-night Pong sesh.
Oregon is an amazing place for local craft beer and cider! The Itty Bitty Inn will let you borrow or buy one of their signature growlers so you can try them all.
They even have their own local beer and cider on tap in the lobby - um, wow! Beam me up, Scotty; we are having a party!
There is even a didgeridoo and drum jam on Thursdays! Even if you didn't pack your own didgeridoo have no worries because the owners, Cliff and his wife, will rock you Amadeus didgeridoo style.
Want to tool around town to pick up some food, take in the sights, fill up that growler, or explore some of those famous Oregon mountain biking trails?
The inn provides cruiser bikes on loan for around-town trips or mountain biking rentals for more vigorous adventures. (You might not want to combine the growler fill-up run with the mountain biking though.)
If you aren’t geeking out right now about how much fun this retro-themed motel is in Oregon you are in the wrong place, my friend. Which room will you pick? Tell us all about those wild fantasies swimming around in your head – um, better keep it PG though, please.
If you love themed destinations you’ll probably get a kick out of some of these retro-themed activities right here in our beautiful state of Oregon.
