Portland’s Singing Christmas Tree is a time-honored tradition, and it’s been a beloved part of the holiday season since 1962. The community choir hasn’t missed a single year of performing since then, and it’s not about to start now! Even though Covid-19 has posed challenges this year, you can still see this incredible performance. Check it out:
Portland's Singing Christmas Tree got its start back in 1962, in a high school auditorium, with a $500 budget. Over the years, it's grown into a fabulous, two-hour production that includes more than 350 singers, dancers, and musicians.
2020 has brought plenty of challenges to Oregonians, and the folks who present the Singing Christmas Tree are no exception. Officials decided that it was just too risky to present the show to an audience this year. Undeterred, organizers decided to offer a Streaming Spectacular instead!
Performances run from December 15th through January 1st, and viewers will still enjoy the same wonderful show and incredible talent as they do when they see it in person. The traditional living nativity is still part of the event...
Santa Claus even makes an appearance, and he'll probably bust out some moves on stage. Portland's Singing Christmas Tree is an event that's exciting for patrons of all ages, from children to adults. Don't miss it this year!
Make sure to visit the Portland’s Singing Christmas Tree’s website to learn more and to get your tickets for the streaming performances. You can also follow the choir’s Facebook page for updates.
