However, that is exactly what happens at this public house in North Portland that is the first of its kind in the world. Operating as a not-for-profit business, the popular Oregon Public House gives all of its profits to its nonprofit partners of your choice.
The pub features six nonprofit partners for a half year at a time, and when you make a purchase of a pint, you get to pick which one the profit goes to.
With the slogan "Have a Pint, Change The World," it is hard not to get in on the giving fun at the Oregon Public House.
Patrons have made the business model successful, raising over $150,000 for good causes that support our community in its 4 years in business.
It's not just the beer, either. All food and drink proceeds (after operating costs and contingency savings) go to the organization of your choice.

With a full menu of food favorites, the one-of-a-kind pub has something for everyone.
The adult mac and cheese, tossed with Aletruism beer cheese fondue is a must try for cheese lovers.
Charities that the Oregon Public House supports rotate twice annually, giving you an opportunity to spread the love across several different organization that matter to you.
