Skip the mall and the internet when you are Christmas shopping this season, and instead head to one of these great holiday markets. Not only can you get amazing treasures for everyone on your list, you can join in the holiday fun under one roof with these amazing markets happening across the city.
1. America's Largest Christmas Bazaar
Taking place over Thanksgiving weekend as well as the following weekend, this is one holiday fair that lives up to its name. Located at the Portland Expo Center, the two-weekend event costs $8 for adults ($3 for children) for entry and features a wide range of holiday products as well as handcrafted wares.
2. Laurelhurst Winter Bazaar
Located at Laurelhurst Elementary School, this annual fair supports the school and features artisans from across the area. Taking place December 3 from 9 am to 4 pm, the event will include 80 vendors, food, activities and live music all for a good cause.
3. Crafty Wonderland Holiday Art + Craft Market
Over 200 vendors will be present for this epic craft and gift fair at the Oregon Convention Center. Taking place December 9 and 10 from 11 am to 6 pm, you are going to want to stay a while. Admission is free.
4. The Portland Bazaar
In addition to a robust curated list of vendors, the Portland Bazaar offers a variety of DIY demonstrations to get you in the creating spirit as well. The Portland Bazaar takes place December 8 from 6 to 9 pm and December 9 and 10 from 10 am to 5 pm. Admission is free and the event takes place at The North Warehouse, at Interstate & Tillamook Streets.
5. Portland Saturday Market / Festival of the Last Minute
This nearly year-long market is always a favorite for the holidays. Featuring handmade crafts and art from local artisans, the market is open Saturdays (10 am to 5 pm) and Sundays (11 am to 4:30 pm) as usual until December 18 - 22 when it is open daily from 11 am to 5 pm. It closes early on Christmas Eve at 3:30 pm, so don't wait until the very last minute to shop here.
6. Renegade Craft Fair
If you wait until the last minute, you may just pull off some great finds at the Renegade Craft Fair. Located at Pure Space (1315 NW Overton St.), this fair features over 100 makers and takes place December 22 from 2 to 9 pm and December 23 from 11 am to 6 pm.
