Portland is steeped in history, as evidenced by the many historic building around town. There are few greater ways to explore the history than to visit its many fascinating and grand places of worship around the city. While there are many churches scattered far and wide across the area, these are some of the most notable churches around.
This beautiful building has been in service since 1889, after its congregation moved to its current location on 12th and Alder. The church was founded in Portland in 1853, and the current building seats 1000.
Featuring Spanish Colonial Revival-style architecture, this church was built in 1923. A nondenominational Christian church, the building is used for weddings, community events, concerts and seminars. It is located on SE Ankeny.
