Some places just never lose their retro charm, and the Polar King diner in Gresham is definitely that kind of place. It’s been open for more than 70 years, and the decor hasn’t been updated much during those decades. That doesn’t matter, though – this diner is spotlessly clean, and has tasty food served by the friendliest wait staff ever.
Polar King opened in 1952, and it hasn't changed much over the years.
You'll find it at 1030 Powell Blvd., Gresham, OR 97030.
This little diner is popular with locals, and the service is always amazing. Climb up onto one of the swivel stools and have a seat at the counter, or find a cozy booth.
The wait staff has been around for a long time, and if you come back again, they'll likely remember your name. This is the kind of place that truly makes you feel right at home.
If you're dining for lunch or dinner, you'll find plenty of old-school sandwiches on the menu. You can't go wrong with the club sandwich served with tater tots.
