Gumba had humble beginnings. Two friends from Silverton, Jesse and Robin, talked about owning some sort of business together since they were little kids. In 2016, with no business experience, they opened an Italian food cart in Portland. At first, they only had three menu items.
Things went so well, though, that in late 2020 — at the peak of the pandemic — they were able to open a brick-and-mortar location. Gumba's popularity continues to grow and the pair have found great success.
