Here on the Oregon Coast, you don’t have to look very far to discover stunning views. Whether you’re gazing out over jagged sea stacks or soaking in historic lighthouses, there’s sure to be an amazing perch to watch the waves crash. The following eight mesmerizing viewpoints are guaranteed to take your breath away. Take a look:
1. Cape Perpetua
As the highest viewpoint accessible by car on the Oregon Coast, Cape Perpetua towers 800 feet over the protected Marine Garden shoreline. This enchanting area is beautiful to behold.
2. Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area
Located just off of US 101, this gorgeous viewpoint offers a look at coastal gems and the amazing Yaquina Head Lighthouse.
3. Cape Foulweather
Don't let the name stop you from visiting this spectacular viewpoint. The weather may or may not be foul, but the views will never disappoint. While you're here, you are 600 feet above the sea. You can see the lighthouse at Newport to the south and the massive, secret sea caves to the north.
4. Astoria Column
Free to enter and climb, the Astoria Column is a must-visit on the Northern Oregon Coast. Once you reach the top, you'll be greeted by amazing views of the Columbia River and the Astoria–Megler Bridge.
5. Rocky Creek State Scenic Viewpoint
Located in Depoe Bay, this hidden gem is a bit off the beaten path. It's a great spot for whale watching, offering rugged views of the coastline. There's also plenty of parking in the area.
6. Heceta Head Lighthouse
This viewpoint boasts stunning ocean views AND a charming look at Heceta Head Lighthouse. This iconic landmark is always beautiful, even on stormy days.
7. Battle Rock Park
This picturesque beach is always worth a stop. Home to an impressive set of sea stacks, the views here are downright enchanting.
8. Cape Meares
With views of Three Arch Rocks, Maxwell Mountain, and Cape Lookout in the distance, it's hard to beat the scene at Cape Meares. This viewpoint can be found in Tillamook on the Central Oregon Coast.
