I write like it's my job - because it is! I have a Master's in English and love words: crossword puzzles, Scrabble games, Wordle, and, of course, good, old-fashioned books.
I'm a writer and editor at OnlyInYourState, and a contributing writer at Cincinnati Magazine. I love the Great Outdoors and am endlessly awestruck by this beautiful country of ours. Coffee keeps me going, yoga keeps me sane, my kids keep me grounded, and my writing keeps me inspired.
As local travel experts, we know what travelers are looking for when it comes to finding the perfect accommodations for their next trip. To compile our lists, we scour the internet to find properties with excellent ratings and reviews, desirable amenities, nearby attractions, and that something special that makes a destination worthy of traveling for.
Oregon is a veritable “choose your own adventure” in terms of accommodations, but we’re always a bit partial to the historic places. With its rich and celebrated pioneer history, there’s nothing quite like a night at one of Oregon’s myriad historic and legendary accommodations. In terms of superlatives, Wolf Creek Inn is Oregon’s oldest inn, and it’s a place worth checking out for a historic overnight adventure!
In Southern Oregon, the charming Wolf Creek Inn has been providing dining and overnight accommodations to visitors since the late 1800s. Oregon's oldest inn, Wolf Creek provided a refuge to weary travelers who'd journeyed over mountains and across valleys on the Applegate Trail.
Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the establishment has stood the test of time, evolving and growing while maintaining all its unique and historic charms and features.
Back in the day, guests would pay 75 cents for a room, bath, and meals, and then retire to the parlor for a nightcap. Today, guests are invited to do the same... though the rates have gone up a bit!
In terms of accommodations, each of the rooms is unique and well-appointed with all the comforts of home thanks to the Wolf Creek Inn's caring and capable staff. This is Room #4, one of the inn's pet-friendly options.
You have to call the inn to book these rooms: (541) 866-2474.

Today, Wolf Creek Inn and Tavern of Oregon is a popular place for reunions, romantic getaways, and girls weekends, boasting the perfect mix of rustic luxury and modern comfort.
It's also a wonderful "home base" for your adventures in the resplendent Rogue River Valley. This is the view from the inn's backyard, by the way. Swoon.
The next time you're searching for a historic, charming, and off-the-beaten-path adventure, mosey on down to the Wolf Creek Inn. It's an only-in-Oregon experience worth seeking out!
