There’s nothing like a flavorful Bloody Mary for brunch, but they’re definitely not all created equally – they should have the right mix of vodka, juice, and spices, and include some tasty food items piled on top. Oakland Tavern has one of the best Bloody Marys in the state, and they are absolute works of art. Check ’em out!
Welcome to Oakland Tavern (aka The O.T.)! This tavern has been serving cold beer since 1898, and you'll find it right in the heart of the Historic Row in Oakland.
This place has a true neighborhood vibe. There's a friendly atmosphere, and it's a classic dive bar with piles of peanuts, a pool table and sport on the TVs. Minors aren't allowed inside, so leave the kiddos home.
The O.T. is well-known for its amazing sandwiches. You'll find all kinds, from the OT Grinder to the BBQ Beef, and they're all big enough to satisfy even the heartiest appetite.
The other thing the O.T. does better than any other bar is its Bloody Marys. These things really art works of art, and they're a meal all by themselves.
You can get 'em plain, with just some celery and olives, or loaded, which is the way to go. Loaded Bloody Marys include a huge bacon-wrapped meatball, Slim Jim, pepperoni, celery, asparagus, olives, and a lime wedge.
Oakland Tavern is open every day, starting at 11 a.m. Stop by soon to make some new friends, enjoy a delicious sandwich, and sip a massive Bloody Mary.
