When the winter weather is damp and chilly, one of our favorite ways to warm up is with a piping hot bowl of ramen. You can find lots of ramen restaurants around the Beaver State, but there’s a place in Portland that we’re particularly fond of. Have you visited Noraneko?
Welcome to Noraneko! This place is tucked away under the Hawthorne Bridge, but it's worth seeking out for both its food and atmosphere.
We know you want to bury your face in a bowl of ramen, but let's get this meal started like civilized folk, with a cocktail and an appetizer. The bar snacks are tasty little morsels, and the cocktail menu is creative.
The ramen is made from scratch every day, then paired with the most delicious broth, veggies, and meat. Before you commit, you should know that this stuff is downright addictive.
You can add on all kinds of tasty morsels to your ramen, from an egg to maitake mushrooms. We're particularly keen on the pork belly chasyu and pork meatballs.
Visit Noraneko every day of the week from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., and make sure to stop by during Happy Hour from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. for drink and bar snack specials.
What’s your favorite kind of ramen? Tell us in the comments! Check out Noraneko’s full menu on its website, then follow its Facebook page, where you’ll find more mouthwatering ramen photos.
If you’re looking for more delicious comfort food in Oregon this winter, head to Camp 18 Restaurant. It’s a cozy log restaurant that serves comfort food at its finest.
