If you love wine, seafood, and the beautiful scenery of the coast, the Newport Seafood & Wine Festival is probably already on your calendar. If not, we’re here to convince you that you definitely want to attend this epic annual event. It’s coming up soon!
The Newport Seafood & Wine Festival got its start way back in 1977, when just 300 or so people showed up to partake of delicious seafood and sip on award-winning wines.
Today, this event draws crowds of around 25,000 seafood and wine-loving folks. It's one of the largest festivals on the coast all year, and it will be held on February 21-24 in 2019.
The festival takes place at 2320 OSU Drive Newport, Oregon 97365.

It's pretty chilly on the coast in February, but you'll be happy to know that the huge event tent will be heated this year! Dress in layers to make sure you're plenty warm; you can always check your coat at the booth near the entrance.
You'll find more than 150 wines here, and you'll want to sample all of your favorites. The winners of this year's festival will be chosen in the second week of February, and you'll definitely want to take a peek to see who took home the prizes for 2019.
Come prepared to have some fun! We might be in the presence of world-class wines here, but you'll be hard-pressed to find stuffy, uptight folks at this fun festival.
Tickets for the festival start at just $18 and your ticket includes a commemorative glass. Some people collect these to remember all the past years they've attended.
We know you don't want to drink and drive, and there's no need to take any chances - there's a free shuttle that runs from many of Newport's hotels and neighborhoods.

The festival is still looking for volunteers! As long as you're at least 21 years old, you can help out for a short 3-4 hour shift, and in return, you'll receive a 3-day pass to the festival.
The festival opens on Thursday night from 5 p.m.to 9 p.m, and continues on Friday from Noon to 9 p.m., Saturday from 10 am. to 6 p.m, and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m..
You must be at least 21 years old to attend - no children are allowed at this adults-only festival.
For more information or to buy tickets online, visit the festival’s website, and follow its Facebook page for all the latest details and news. Do you plan on attending?
