I write like it's my job - because it is! I have a Master's in English and love words: crossword puzzles, Scrabble games, Wordle, and, of course, good, old-fashioned books.
I'm a writer and editor at OnlyInYourState, and a contributing writer at Cincinnati Magazine. I love the Great Outdoors and am endlessly awestruck by this beautiful country of ours. Coffee keeps me going, yoga keeps me sane, my kids keep me grounded, and my writing keeps me inspired.
Here in Oregon, we’re mad for marionberries. These berry delicious little hybrids were actually invented in Oregon, and we simply can’t get enough! You can find marionberries on the menu at many Oregon restaurants and bakeries, and sold by the pound at pretty much every local farm stand and market. But there’s just something special about going out and picking produce fresh from the farm; it’s an empowering and grounding experience that’s also just plain fun! Happily, there’s a charming little farm on Sauvie Island that offers (among other things) marionberry U-pick, and it’s a place you’ll definitely want to check out!
Douglas Farm typically opens its marionberry U-pick in June, and the farm posts field updates and other produce picking opportunities on its Facebook page.
