If you love margaritas and Mexican food, we have the perfect weekend activity for you! We’ve come up with a Margarita Marathon that will take you to seven different restaurants and bars in Portland.
You can do this marathon all in one day, or split it up into several days, but for safe travels, we suggest a combination of walking from place to place and taking a Lyft or Uber ride. An alternative is to find a friend who’s willing to drink virgin margaritas and act as the designated driver; whatever you do, don’t drive intoxicated!
This little gem claims to have the best Mexican food in Portland, and who are we to disagree? And with a comprehensive menu of unique margaritas, you're sure to find one you love. The pineapple habanero is a favorite.
It's just a .3-mile walk to the next spot, so finish up your margarita and take a walk to...
Delicious Latin American food and perfect margaritas - what more could you want? Try the Teote bowl with your drink.
It's about .7 miles from Teote House to the next destination. If the weather's nice, take a walk.
The food at Nuestra Cocina is legit - the tortillas are handmade and the ceviche appetizer is delicious! The margaritas here are the perfect combo of sweet and tangy.
The distance between Nuestra Cocina and the next destination on our Margarita Marathon is just a half mile, so you'll probably be able to walk.
Get yourself some Texas tacos here - they're downright addictive. Stella features delicious seasonal margaritas, as well as a beer-o-rita, skinny-rita, and frozen margaritas. Try the cucumber jalapeño.
It's a half-mile journey to the next stop on our list.
Xico offers tasty homemade food, and it specializes in mezcal, so this margarita will be a little smokier than the others.
Now that you've had several margaritas, you might want to call a Lyft or Uber to take you the .7 miles to the next destination.
Cha Cha Cha has several Portland locations, but Hawthorne is our favorite. With its brightly-colored atmosphere and laid back vibe, you'll relax right into your margarita here.
You'll want to get a ride to our final stop, which is 1.2 miles away.
The margaritas at Conquistador Lounge come in 12 different flavors (our fave is the raspberry). This is your last stop on the Margarita Marathon, so make it count. Share an order of Conquistador Nachos!
Here'a map of our entire Margarita Marathon. You can do it all in one day with a group of friends (you can all share small plates or appetizers at each restaurant), or break it up into several days. Enjoy!
Which of these places have you already tried, and what other places do you recommend to add to this margarita marathon? Tell our readers in the comments!
