Author H.P. Lovecraft’s work is well-known among aficionados of horror fiction, and though he died in 1937, his influence is still strong in the genre. Here’s a bar in Portland that pays homage to this Master of Fear…and when you pay this place a visit, you might have nightmares for days.
There's an unassuming bar on Portland's Grand Avenue. From the outside, it looks like any other. But if you dare step inside, be prepared for an atmosphere unlike any other.
If you're a fan of horror fiction, or just the macabre in general, you'll love the spine-chilling decor here. This bar has been voted as one of the top 10 theme bars in the world on multiple occasions.
Every space inside has its own little otherworldly vignette. From the shocking to the downright nightmare-inducing, the decor here pays homage to the great talents of horror.
In addition to being a haven for horror fans, The Lovecraft Bar is one of the most popular places in the city for dance parties of all kinds. From 80s-themed to industrial to goth, punk, and queer, the parties here are epic.
The Lovecraft Bar is open Monday through Thursday from 8 p.m. to 2:30 a.m., and Friday through Sunday from 4 p.m. to 2:30 a.m.. Visit soon...if you dare.
