You could spend a lifetime exploring the natural beauty of Oregon, and still not see it all. One of the best things about the diversity of our natural beauty is that there’s something suitable for everyone. Here’s an easy trail that’s perfect for hikers of all ages and abilities, and it comes with some jaw-dropping scenery and a gorgeous turquoise lake.
The Lost Lake Loop Trail is a fun, easy hike that's perfect for the whole family. You'll find the lake and its trail in the Mount Hood National Forest, and you'll access the trailhead right from the parking lot at Lost Lake Resort's Lodge.
Just 3.2 miles long, the path almost completely level and easy to navigate. The wheelchair-accessible boardwalk portion of the trail takes you through the marshy terrain along the lake's banks, and you'll find several fishing piers branching off from the trail.
The western red cedars tower high above the trail like giants standing sentinel over Lost Lake. Breathe in the smells, sights, and sounds of this majestic wilderness.
The deep blue waters of the lake reflect Mount Hood in the distance. Bring your camera along to capture stunning shots like this in several spots along the trail.
