One of the best things about an Oregon summer is overnight camping. Break away from your daily commute and work stress, leave your electronics behind, and spend some time in the woods, hiking, biking, fishing, and exploring.
The Beaver State is full of great campgrounds of all kinds, but there’s one state park that offers several beautiful spots to pitch your tent or park your trailer, and you’ll be absolutely surrounded by recreation opportunities. Check out the campgrounds at L.L. Stub Stewart State Park.
Bask in the beauty of L.L. Stub Stewart State Park for days when you camp in one of its several unique campgrounds. You'll find this pretty park just west of Portland, and you'll want to make time for a visit this summer.

This forested state park covers 1,800 acres, offering all kinds of outdoor recreation, an array of recreation opportunities, and plenty of fresh air. The best way to fully enjoy the park is by staying overnight in one of its several campgrounds.
Bring your RV or trailer, and stay at Dairy Creek Camp West or Dairy Creek Camp East. These campgrounds offer a total of 78 full hook up sites for your comfort, as well as hot showers, and restrooms with flush toilets.
Dairy Creek Camp East has a playground that the kids will love, and Dairy Creek Camp West has a large meeting hall you can reserve for a family reunion, wedding, party, or corporate event.
Dairy Creek Camp West has 12 walk-in tent sites, but if you're willing to hike just a bit, the Brook Creek Hike-In Camp is even more secluded. The available carts make it easy to transport your gear down the trail.
Brooke Creek's 23 primitive sites have picnic tables and drinking water nearby. Vault toilets are available, but you'll also have access to the restrooms and showers at West Dairy Campground.
If sleeping outdoors isn't your style, but you still want to experience the joy of camping, book one of the cozy cabins at Mountain Dale Cabin Village.
There are 12 single-room and 3 double-room cabins available, and a few are even pet-friendly. Each cabin has electricity, heat, a dining set, futon, and bunk beds. Bring your sleeping bags or bedding.
L.L. Stub Stewart has more than 25 miles of multi-use trails, and many are perfect for exploring on horseback. If you want to bring your horses along, you can stay at Hares Canyon Horse Camp.
This campground provides 13 hook up sites for you to choose from, each with four-stall corrals. Two double-sized sites offer six-stall corrals. The campground has restrooms with flush toilets and host showers, as well as several manure bins.
Lace up your hiking boots to explore the trails on foot. From easy, paved trails to more difficult trails with steep climbs, there's a hike here that's suitable for just about everyone.
The 18-hole disc golf course is another great way to explore the woods around the campgrounds while spending time with loved ones. You can get discs at the Stub Stewart Welcome Center.
Whether you sleep on the ground in a tent, cozy up in a cabin, or hook your RV up, the L.L. Stub Stewart Campground is the perfect place to make some wonderful summer memories.
