Oregon has plenty of beautiful beaches on its coast, but if you’re in the mood for a freshwater swim, visit one of the Beaver State’s azure lakes. There’s a park here that boasts not one, but two gorgeous lakes that have crystal-clear waters that rival the Caribbean.
For an incredible summer adventure, visit Jessie M. Honeyman Memorial State Park. This beautiful park is located in Florence, and it's the second-largest state park in Oregon.
Address: Florence, OR, 97439
The park boasts not one, but two crystal-clear lakes, both with beaches. The Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area is right next door, and in some places the dunes go right up to the lake, ensuring that you'll have plenty of sand to play on.
Lakes Cleawox and Woahink await! There's plenty of recreation on both, and you'll want to spend at least an entire weekend here to thoroughly explore everything.
Bask on the beach while enjoying incredible views. Breathe in that fresh, Oregon air and let your worries drift away. You're far from the hustle and bustle of your daily life here.
Both lakes have roped-off swimming areas for you to splash and play. There's no lifeguard on duty, so keep a close eye on your kids.
The water in both lakes is clean and clear. It's definitely not as warm as Caribbean waters, but we think it's even better! After all, the folks in the Caribbean don't have the natural beauty that we have here.
Rent a paddle boat, kayak, or standup paddle board on Cleawox Lake, and explore to your heart's content.
You definitely don't need to travel to a Caribbean island to enjoy a paddleboarding experience, and it's hard to beat an afternoon on one of these Oregon lakes.
The lakes are just one of the spots for recreation at Jessie M. Honeyman Memorial State Park. You can also bring your four-wheeler or dirt bike and ride on the dunes. Camp in Loop H for direct access.
Go for a bike ride or stroll on one of the hiking trails in the park to surround yourself with nature.
You'll definitely want to make this an overnight trip! Bring your RV or pitch your tent in one of the 350 campsites. There are 47 sites with full hookups, 121 with electricity and water, and 187 tent sites.
Enjoy even more comfort in one of the 10 yurts that sleep up to 8 campers.
There's no better place to spend time this summer than at the lakes and beaches of Jessie M. Honeyman State Park. Campsites go fast, so reserve yours today.
