I write like it's my job - because it is! I have a Master's in English and love words: crossword puzzles, Scrabble games, Wordle, and, of course, good, old-fashioned books.
I'm a writer and editor at OnlyInYourState, and a contributing writer at Cincinnati Magazine. I love the Great Outdoors and am endlessly awestruck by this beautiful country of ours. Coffee keeps me going, yoga keeps me sane, my kids keep me grounded, and my writing keeps me inspired.
Here in Oregon, we love nothing more than a day spent outdoors. Our state is one great, big playground for outdoor enthusiasts, offering pretty much every adventure imaginable under the sun. Except, of course, when the sun is replaced by the clouds and rain prevalent in the PNW. In which case, it’s always good to have a rainy-day contingency. Especially an epic, 71,000 square-foot rainy day contingency, which, really isn’t a contingency at all, but rather, an epic indoor water park that makes for one of the most delightful day trips in Oregon — rainy day or not!
Contrary to appearances, this is not an airport or NASA launchpad...
The park boasts 10 waterslides totaling more than 2,000 feet, with four slides coming from the retired Evergreen International Airlines Boeing 747 aircraft that's on the roof!
Wings & Waves Waterpark has rides and experiences that are fun for the whole family. Younger kids will love all the water spray features and fountains, while older kids (and kids at heart!) will enthusiastically get in line for the water slides -- again and again!
One of the great things about Wings & Waves is that it really is great for the whole family. Parents can rest easy knowing that their kids, tweens, and teens are under the watchful eye of the park's many well-trained lifeguards.
All that activity is bound to work up an appetite, so be sure and break for lunch at the Milky Way Cafe. Pizza and sliding out of an airplane... what could be better?
Have you visited Wings and Waves, an epic indoor water park in McMinnville, Oregon, before? It’s quite literally one of the coolest places in the state!
