I write like it's my job - because it is! I have a Master's in English and love words: crossword puzzles, Scrabble games, Wordle, and, of course, good, old-fashioned books.
I'm a writer and editor at OnlyInYourState, and a contributing writer at Cincinnati Magazine. I love the Great Outdoors and am endlessly awestruck by this beautiful country of ours. Coffee keeps me going, yoga keeps me sane, my kids keep me grounded, and my writing keeps me inspired.
Here in Oregon, we have glorious waterfallsandbreathtaking beaches, but you generally don’t find these two wonders together. Generally. But this is Oregon we’re talking about, a place of almost incomprehensible natural beauty. So of course, if there’s a waterfall beach that exists, you know you’ll find it in Oregon! And that’s exactly what awaits at Hug Point Falls, a winsome waterfall that’s located on its very own Oregon beach.
A visit to Hug Point State Recreation Site absolutely needs to be on your Oregon bucket list.
Finding a parking spot to access this beach can be tricky, as the main lot fills up quickly. Plan on arriving early to ensure you're able to find a place to park.
What makes this waterfall even more unique is that viewing is limited by the ocean tides.
The falls can only be safely accessed at low tide. During this time, you'll also discover tide pools teeming with ocean treasures -- sea anemones, starfish, muscles, and even crabs!
Have you been to the Hug Point Falls before? Did you know about this waterfall beach in Oregon? Learn more and plan a trip to this hidden treasure by visiting the Hug Point State Recreation Site.
While you’re exploring the Oregon Coast, be sure to stop and grab a bite at one of these delicious seafood restaurants!
