When you think of places to get tasty food in Oregon, a bowling alley probably doesn’t come to mind, but that might be because you’ve never visited Grand Central Restaurant & Bowling Lounge in Portland. Check out the amazing food at this place!
You've never visited a bowling alley like Grand Central Restaurant & Bowling Lounge. From the front, it looks pretty typical...
The food here is patterned on standard bowling alley food, but it far exceeds anything you've ever eaten in a bowling alley before. For instance, in addition to standard burger sliders, you can get Bánh Mi sliders and fried chicken sliders.
Pizza is typical fare at a bowling alley... but you've never dined on artisan pizza like this at the lanes. This isn't frozen pizza - it's hand-tossed with smoked mozzarella, fontina, and provolone cheeses, alongside gourmet toppings.
If you're feeling like comfort food, the mac & cheese will make your evening complete. There are three kinds to choose from, but our favorite is the Bacon Mac with peppered bacon, sweet onions, and a five cheese blend.
Brunch here is to die for. You'll love the breakfast hash and Benedicts, but you'll definitely want to try the spicy chicken and waffles with bacon and jalapenos. When's the last time you sipped on a mimosa at a bowling alley?
The real fun starts in the bowling alley. You'll find 12 boutique bowling lanes here. This place is different than the lanes of the 1970s - it's bright, clean, and modern.
You'll find plenty of affordable options for playing time. During the day, games are $6 each; night games after 10 p.m. cost just $3, and on Saturday and Sunday, you can rent the lane for $49 an hour, which allows seven players to bowl.
Grand Central Restaurant & Bowling Lounge is located at 808 SE Morrison St., Portland, OR 97214. It's open seven days a week.
