What are your favorite indulgences? For us, ice cream and fries top the list, and we’ve found a restaurant that specializes in both! Check out Frite and Scoop in Astoria:
The next time you find yourself in Astoria, you'll want to stop by Frite & Scoop for a treat. You'll find it right along the Riverwalk, with a great view of the Columbia.
Kevin and Lisa Malcolm opened the shop in 2014, and it's been scooping up the tastiest hand-crafted ice cream, and serving the yummiest fries ever since.
The Belgian frites are not the basic French fries you get elsewhere. They're made with fresh Kennebec potatoes, and they're fried twice to achieve the perfect crunch...
...then they're tossed in salt and drizzled with your choice of rosemary-infused oil, garlic-infused oil, or hot honey. Choose from 11 different dipping sauces that range from sweet to spicy.
Hand-crafted ice cream is the perfect accompaniment to your frites. The French custard-style ice cream is made in small batches, and the flavors change from day to day.
Some of the favorites include Foggy Lemon (Earl grey and vanilla bean custard with housemade lemon curd), Chocolate Milk & Cookies (malted chocolate custard with Oreo pieces), and Golden Milk (turmeric, black pepper, cinnamon, and ginger, with housemade coconut toffee).
Hokey Pokey is the signature flavor here. It's a sweet cream custard with homemade honeycomb toffee. You've never had anything like it!
The shop is open Monday from noon to 8 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Visit Frite and Scoop’s website to learn more about this charming place, then head over to its Facebook page to see what flavors they’re scooping today!
