I write like it's my job - because it is! I have a Master's in English and love words: crossword puzzles, Scrabble games, Wordle, and, of course, good, old-fashioned books.
I'm a writer and editor at OnlyInYourState, and a contributing writer at Cincinnati Magazine. I love the Great Outdoors and am endlessly awestruck by this beautiful country of ours. Coffee keeps me going, yoga keeps me sane, my kids keep me grounded, and my writing keeps me inspired.
Here in Oregon, there’s no shortage of places to go for ah-mazing seafood. With the Pacific Ocean in our own backyard and no less than 363 miles of spectacular shoreline, fresh seafood in Oregon is abundant — and we’re here for it. There’s one spot on the North Coast, though, that takes “fresh-caught” fare to a whole other level. The Salmonberry is a wonderful little restaurant that specializes in fresh-from-the-sea fare in Wheeler, Oregon.
If this is your love language (it's ours, too), then there's a seafood spot on the North Oregon Coast you simply need to visit.
The produce and proteins? Well, those are local, too. The Salmonberry is a proud part of its North Oregon locale, and sources its products very, very intentionally.
It's not just fresh-caught seafood at The Salmonberry, either; the menu makes the most of the local bounty, with freshly foraged fungi and farm-fresh greens, the latter of which come from the on-site garden.
The result? Sweet, succulent, flavorful meals that, when touched by the expert chefs at The Salmonberry, becomes something truly greater than the sum of their parts.
And The Salmonberry's locale, too, is a quintessential part of the experience. Located right on the water, you won't find better al fresco dining on the North Coast!
